Volunteers to Assess CT Rivers
Greenwich-Post.com: How healthy are the Byram and Mianus River watersheds? A few dozen Greenwich volunteers are about to spend the summer finding out as they take part in stream-walk assessments through the rivers to check on water quality and make sure any issues in the watersheds can be identified and addressed.
While this initiative is not specifically targeted towards drinking water or flood management, it is considered just as important to make sure the watersheds are in good condition and that potential issues like erosion or pollution have not become too marked.
