Study: Turbines May Help Fish Population
A new study on a European wind farm similar to the one planned for Nantucket Sound’s Horseshoe Shoal has found the wind turbines have not harmed fish populations, according to an article on CapeCodToday.com.
The study by the Danish government examined how the wind farm, which has been located off Denmark’s westernmost point for nearly 10 years, affected marine life. The study found not only did the turbines and fish coexist successfully, but that some fish populations increased since the turbines were put in place.
