South Shore, MA, Residents Prepare for Irene
Brad White and Christian Haufler exchanged history and astronomy lessons Wednesday morning as they prepared to haul their boats out of Scituate Harbor.
They are among hundreds of South Shore boaters bracing for the possible arrival of Hurricane Irene this weekend. There is potential for damaging winds and a storm surge with coastal flooding Sunday night. There is also the possibility that the storm could change course, leaving the coast relatively unscathed. Some local residents aren’t taking any chances.
