CapeCodOnline: The audience chomped on cheese and crackers, celery and other goodies. But when state shark expert Greg Skomal spoke, he upped the ante on what it means to feast.
Skomal, the featured speaker at the Harwich Conservation Trust‘s annual meeting Sunday evening, gave the crowd at Wequassett Resort the scoop on great white sharks. He detailed tagging them off the coast of Chatham near Monomoy. He talked about how they weren’t too picky on what they ate, hunting an assortment of fish. And thanks to an ever-growing population of gray seals in the area, the great white sharks are increasingly drawn to the Cape waters every summer.
