Salem, MA, Residents Object to Clipper Ship Water Tank Painting Proposal
Newburyport News: City officials [in Newburyport, Massachusetts] say that they will withhold action on a plan to paint clipper ship logos on the municipal water tank on Rawson Hill until they hear from a group of residents that is questioning the wisdom of adding the artwork.
A regular meeting of the city’s water commission is scheduled for Wednesday, and no work will happen until at least then.
“Neighborhood residents want to be heard, and we’ll be holding off any action until that meeting,” said Paul Colby, municipal water superintendent.
