Gloucester Times: A new film about elite Coast Guard Search and Rescue crews will be screened at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Massachusetts, on Sunday.
The film, “Guardians of the Gates: The Surfboats,” was created by Rockport native David Wittkower, a filmmaker who founded Lighthouse Productions and has created 11 films. Surfboat crews conduct more than 600 rescues each year.
According to an article in the Gloucester Times, to make the film, Wittkower worker out of one of the nation’s busiest Coast Guard stations, located adjacent to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
