Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Richard K. Sullivan Jr. and state environmental officials joined government, industry and scientific leaders to celebrate the kickoff of the Red Brook restoration project at A.D. Makepeace Headquarters in Wareham, Massachusetts.
The project will demonstrate how conservation sites can be prepared for the impending impacts of climate change and how environmental restoration and stewardship can aid in these efforts.

Red Brook is home to one of the last self-sustaining runs of searun brook trout on the coast, Photo/BoatingLocal.
Officials highlighted the multiple dam removals that have already been completed on Red Brook, home to one of the lat remaining runs of searun brook trout (aka, “salters”). Also showcased were the ongoing fisheries restoration efforts, and land conservation, including the state’s recent purchase of Century Bog and its planned restoration.
