Paddling Tour Highlights Housatonic Watershed
The Berkshire Eagle reports that the Housatonic Valley Association will host a 10-day celebration and paddling tour of the Housatonic River between May 3 and May 12.
The tour will highlight the natural beauty of the 149-mile waterway from its source in the town of Washington, Massachusetts, to where it empties into Long Island Sound in Connecticut.
Paddlers will take to the water by canoe and kayak, traversing a river that includes meandering stretches and challenging rapids, and learning about the environmentally, historically and culturally significant aspects of the area.
