Seacoast Online: There continues to be interest in building a comprehensive model of the water quality for water bodies within the Great Bay estuary, but details of such a model and the findings have yet to be finalized.

Several politicians, including Governor John Lynch and Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), have cited this collaboration between the state Department of Environmental Services and communities along Great Bay to build a model as a reason why the Environmental Protection Agency should delay issuing draft discharge permits to the communities that further limit the amount of nitrogen they can discharge for their wastewater treatment plants.
