According to the technology website SlashGear.com, the U.S. Navy is auctioning off the Sea Shadow stealth boat, a 1983 project into marine stealth technology that, for almost 10 years, allowed the vessel to covertly sail the oceans without detection on radar.

After hopes of donating the ship to a museum failed, the Navy decided that scrapping it was the only way to dispose of it. Too bad for the buyer, who must agree to break the boat into scrap rather than keep her operational.
