Nauset Estuary Closed to Shellfishing
The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries has issued the first new paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) closure of the 2012 season.
Because of the presence of PSP, also called “red tide”, officials have closed the entire Nauset estuary system to the harvest of all shellfish, effective immediately (March 7).
