CapeCodOnline: A mother and her 2 children were rescued by the Hyannis Fire Department on Tuesday after they were swept 500 yards off Kalmus Beach [on Cape Cod] in a small inflatable raft.

A crew aboard the 32’ Hyannis rescue fireboat found the out-of-state visitors in soggy street clothes and clinging to a buoy, after water from 2’ waves entered their small raft.
