The Town of Mattapoisett has approved an application by the Mattapoisett Boat Yard to run public launch service between the harbor’s moorings and Barstow Wharf.

The new service was initiated to limit traffic in the harbor and dinghy dock, especially in light of the 55 new moorings that were installed this year. MBY, which has a 1-year contract to run the launch service, can be hailed on VHF channel 68, or by phone (number not yet available).

Hours of operation:

June 15 to Labor Day

  • Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday through Sunday: 8:00 a.m. until 1 hour past sunset

Labor Day to Columbus Day

  • Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday through Sunday: 8:00 a.m. until 1/2 hour past sunset
