Man, Dog Rescued in Piscataqua River
Portland Press Herald: A Massachusetts man and his dog are safe after a fisherman and his daughter rescued them from the Piscataqua River between Maine and New Hampshire.
Twenty-seven-year-old Chris Stephens of Haverill was playing fetch with his dog at Peirce Island in Portsmouth on Monday afternoon when Penny swam out too far and was carried away by the current. The 27-pound dog couldn’t swim back to shore.
Stephens jumped in to rescue her but also got caught in the current.
