CapeCodOnline: A Cape Cod animal welfare group helped rescue a humpback whale from a potentially deadly entanglement on Wednesday [April 11] near Mount Desert Island, Maine.
A marine animal entanglement response team from the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, along with the Maine Marine Patrol and the National Marine Fisheries Service, freed the whale after at least 3 days of the animal being stranded, according to a statement from the center.
