The Associated Press is reporting that 6 young dolphins have recently turned up dead on Massachusetts beaches. The latest victim was a 4-foot-long harbor porpoise that washed up on Revere Beach this past Saturday (March 26).
New England Aquarium rescue biologists have apparently handled 7 harbor porpoises in one week along the Massachusetts coast, and say that most of the animals were yearlings, which puts them at greater risk of malnourishment and disorientation during the winter.
