27East.com: The Shamrock, a fishing vessel out of Boston, Massachusetts, that was taking on water on Saturday [March 31] while fishing offshore about 65 miles southeast of Montauk, arrived safely in New Bedford, Massachusetts, just after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. All 4 crewmembers were safe and uninjured.

According to the Coast Guard, a plank in a forward compartment of the Shamrock’s hull was damaged, causing flooding, and a pump reportedly could not keep up with the leak. Another fishing vessel, the Ocean Pride out of Eliot, Maine, alerted the Coast Guard of the situation at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, and a Coast Guard rescue jet and helicopter out of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, were immediately deployed to assist the crew.
