Cranston Herald: It took a flood of historic proportions to clog Cranston, Rhode Island’s Pawtuxet Cove channel with sediment, but a blizzard couldn’t halt efforts to dredge the waterway.
Crews from AGM Marine of Mashpee, Mass., were on the job Tuesday maneuvering a barge as work continued on dredging 15,000 cubic yards of silt and sands and restoring the channel to 100 feet wide and six feet deep. The job started Dec. 18 and must be finished by Jan. 31 under the permit granted by the Coastal Resources Management Council.
