Cranston Herald: The barges are gone from Pawtuxet Cove, back in New Bedford, and the removal of 15,000 cubic yards of material deposited during a flood last March has been cleared from the channel before the January 31 deadline and on budget.
Timothy Duggan, spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers, said the job was completed on January 17. The corps’ survey of the work was finished 2 days later and the contractor “was released.” There were no change orders so, as bid, the dredging cost $400,000.
