Norwalk Citizen: A boater whose vessel burst into flames [last week] off Cedar Point was rescued by an off-duty Westport police official.

The fire on a 47’ boat Twosome—a Meridian based at Cove Marina in Norwalk—was reported by several calls to 911 shortly after 8:00 p.m. Saturday [August 13] , police said. Westport police marine units, assisted by firefighters, were dispatched to the scene.
