Block Island Times: In what was at times a contentious meeting, Champlin’s marina was back once again before the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), this time bringing charges that it had received “disparate treatment” when the council denied its expansion request in January 2011. The latest hearing was held on July 31 at the Narragansett Town Hall.

On the remand of Justice Kristin Rogers of Rhode Island Superior Court, the CRMC hearing was called specifically to examine Champlin’s claim that the council had treated another Block Island marina, Payne’s Dock, more fairly than it had treated Champlin’s.
