Capt. Bill Brown reports in from the Watch Hill area:

  • Bass fishing remains steady with some larger fish mixing in with midsized stripers, especially at night. Block Island bassing has broken wide open, with fish up to 47 pounds being taken on parachutes.
  • Night fishing is heating up, too, with eels taking some very nice bass. Live scup are producing during the day.
  • Fluke fishing has improved significantly. Flatties up to 10 pounds are being taken from the Pink House over to Quonochontaug in 30’ to 70’ of water. Bucktail jigs tipped with squid strips or belly strips have been working well with many more.

My little friend Curious George was onboard the other day, fishing with his dad. He earned his moniker by turning on every switch, opening every hatch, and checking out each and ever drawer of the boat’s tackle locker. It truly was a fun day with a great little guy and his dad.

Please note that the INNAGURAL PABST BLUE RIBBON BLOCK ISLAND STRIPED BASS TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF THIS SATURDAY.

We are working hard to make this is an incredible event that we continue to grow over the years.
