BoatingLocal friend and avid angler Steve Madden was fishing at Little Pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts, when the trout-stocking truck from the Belchertown fish hatchery arrived to dump 600 rainbow trout into the pond.

State hatchery operations, funded through tackle taxes and license sales, are in full swing throughout New England, and the warm weather has fishermen out in droves.
