The Massachusetts Marine Fisheries Advisory Commission has approved new recreational scup, fluke and sea bass regulations for 2012.

Under the new regulations, sea bass have a 14-inch size limit, along with a 10-fish bag limit from May 11 to June 24 and a 20-fish bag limit from June 25 to October 31. For the fluke season from May 22 to September 30, fluke will have a 16.5-inch size limit and 5-fish bag limit.

For scup, the season will run from May 1 to December 31. Private anglers will have a 10.5-inch size limit and a bag limit of 20 fish per angler, or 100 fish per boat carrying six or more anglers. For-hire anglers will have an 11-inch size limit and 20-fish bag limit, except for a bonus period from May 11 to June 24 when they’ll have a 45-fish bag limit.
