Stripers:

Goose Hummock Shop of Orleans is reporting occasionally decent catchesof schoolie stripers are coming in from River Road Landing in Orleans, Pleasant Bay in Harwich, Herring River in Harwich and Stage Harbor in Chatham. Most of the fish are in the sub-20” class.

On the freshwater side, the recently stocked trout in the Cape ponds have acclimated and are being caught in great numbers on everything from Berkley Power Bait to Thomas spoons to Olive Wooly Buggers.

Largemouth/Smallmouth Bass:

The bass are in pre-spawn mode, but the water is still chilly, so fish slowly. Goose customers Keith Prodgers and Edvilma Vagenas have reported some excellent smallmouth action on the Yo-Zuri 3d suspending swimbait. They fish these lures with long pauses on the retrieve. That said, wacky worm and drop-shot fishing with rubber finesse baits seems to be taking the bulk of the largemouth.
