Julianne Silvis of Bill & Jules Boston Saltwater Fishing provided the following report for Boston Harbor:

Rain, rain go away—we can’t take it anymore! Well, despite the crappy weather, the big winds and tides mean that more big striped bass and bait are moving into Boston Harbor. Last week we had a few beautiful days on the water and managed to pick up quite a few fish in the 28” to 36” range.

There have been a few really big bass caught this past week, some up to 40 pounds, and we will see a lot more of those fish in the weeks to come.

There is still a lot of mackerel out there. We saw pods and pods of them last week when the water was flat-calm, so the amount of bait bodes well for continued good fishing.

I also managed to catch an 8- to 9-pound bluefish this past week, and we usually don’t see too many of those until close to the end of June.

Can’t wait to get back out there in a few days. We have charters booked through the end of this week, but have some great dates next week if you want to get out and play.
