Boston Harbor Report: 6.25.12
Bill & Jules Boston Sportfishing reports on the action in and around the harbor for June 25, 2012.
The fishing in Boston Harbor has been tough for sure this past week. However, we are still getting some nice bass up to 26 pounds, plus some big bluefish of 8 to 12 pounds.
The only problem is the massive amounts of bait. There’s so much of it that we’re having trouble finding fish that want to eat.
On the plus side, more fish have been moving in every day, including some big fish. We are marking fish everywhere we go. Some of them just won’t budge, even for live bait. The extreme heat of last week did not help either, as it brought the surface temperature up about 8 degrees. Hopefully things will cool off this week and get the bite really going.
More bluefin tuna are starting to move onto Stellwagen Bank, and that will definitely get the striped bass and bluefish moving inshore.
Shared Trip Update!
Bill & Jules will start doing shared trips for striped bass on Monday and Thursday. If you are interested in fishing with some other people, or cannot afford a half-day trip on your own, these shared trips are the way to go.
Bill & Jules take a group of 4 people fishing for a half-day (5 hours) at a cost of $175 per person (tip included). They also maintain an email list to alert interested anglers when a trip opens up. If you would like to get on the list, send your name and email address to julbil@comcast.net.
