Big Blues, Bass Arrive in Buzzards Bay
“Capt. Corey Pietraszek of Plug n’ Play Charters reports that big bluefish from 6 to 10 pounds have arrived in Buzzards Bay. Corey found them Monday, May 15, in some coves along the western side of the upper bay, and it was lights out on topwater plugs and flies.
“There’s tons of squid in some areas,” he says. “We also did well on some monster bass in the shallows. Looks like we’re on track for a great month of fishing in Buzzards Bay!”
Jumping Minnows and Spook Jr.’s were the topwaters of choice. In the fly department, small half-and-half Clouser minnows did the trick. All were rigged with short traces of wire to protect against teeth.
Let the games begin in BB!
