Beer Company to Hold Block Island Striper Tourney
The Pabst Brewing Company is holding an inaugural striped bass fishing tournament on Block Island, to run June 2 to July 7, 2012. Entry fees run $20 to $40, and the event is open to both shore and boat fishermen, with prizes in both categories.
No fish under 35 pounds and 41” in length will be considered for weigh-in, or be in contention at any point during the tournament. Plus, a penalty will be assessed to any angler presenting a bass weighing more than 8 pounds less than the 3rd-place bass at the time of official weigh-in.
Prize structure:
- 1st Place, Boat: $20K
- 1st Place, Shore: $10K
Official weigh-in stations will be located in Snug Harbor, Rhode Island; Watch Hill, Rhode Island; and 2 on Block Island.
